Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) in South Sudan

At Diko Creative Initiatives (DCI), we are committed to improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in South Sudan, particularly in underserved and conflict-affected communities. Our programs focus on borehole drilling and rehabilitation, safe water access, and the construction of gender-sensitive sanitation facilities in schools and communities. By promoting proper hygiene practices such as handwashing and menstrual hygiene management, we help prevent waterborne diseases and improve overall public health for vulnerable populations.

As a leading organization delivering WASH programs in South Sudan, DCI works closely with communities to build sustainable systems that ensure long-term impact. We strengthen community water management committees, implement hygiene awareness campaigns, and support initiatives that eliminate open defecation through community-led approaches. Our work restores dignity, improves health outcomes, and enhances resilience by ensuring that families—especially women and children—have reliable access to safe water and sanitation services. Through these efforts, DCI continues to play a critical role in advancing health, dignity, and sustainable development in South Sudan.
